LIZ CHISHOLM

All of my work is figurative in nature. It explores how people who inhabit the same space physically, can experience completely different realities based on their identities. My latest pieces explore the intersecting worlds and experiences of mother and child.

My work is also about relationships, between people and between objects. I am interested in power dynamics, and the group vs. the individual. In my drawings and paintings I enjoy playing with the tension between two and three-dimensional space, and I explore how shapes, lines and textures can evoke emotions and memories.
