This is a series of screenprints/monoprints.
The playful colors, shapes and lines are enlarged and screenprinted versions of my children's drawings from when they were young. There has been such horrific devistation through the terrors of war in Ukraine, Gaza and other places during the last 5 years (and more) that I have been raising my young kids.
The action of screen printing the linear illustrations made by my kids, on top of these printed photos from the news, represents a duality of both my desire to engage with these stories but also the lack of abuility to do so. It also represents distance I feel from these tragedies and the innocence of my chidlren who are not suffering in war and are free to make these images.
